Among balloons, glitter-confetti and carnations the Montrose Restoration Committee hosted their third annual Ties and Tiaras father-daughter dance on Saturday, February 9. The event is open to any young lady in grades K-6 and her escort.
“We’ve hosted grandfathers and granddaughters, uncles and nieces, step-fathers and step-daughters. Any father-figure and daughter is welcome, “ said Hillori L. Schenker, chairman of the dance committee.
The guests came in their finery! Girls had dresses with sequins, glitter, feathers, lace, and ruffles. A few had tiaras to top their outfit. Fathers looked dashing in ties. Some fathers even coordinated their shirt and tie with their date’s dresses. Some lucky fathers had multiple dates.
The event helps to raise money for the Montrose Movie Theatre on Public Avenue. The theatre’s marquee is currently undergoing restoration. The event’s proceeds will help ensure that the marquee is ready for operation throughout the rest of the 21st century.
The Montrose Restoration Committee thanks all participants for their attendance. They would also like to thank Craig’s Photique for taking photos, Mama Bullmoose for her music, Price Chopper for their donations, Leopold’s Chocolates for the tasty favors, and the Montrose VFW for the venue.
If you missed the event, and are interested, look for the 4th annual Ties and Tiaras dance next year on February 8, 2020!
